CLOVEN HOOF Parts Ways With Singer
October 20, 2009NWOBHM legends CLOVEN HOOF have issued the following update:
"Russ North [vocals] has left CLOVEN HOOF to pursue a solo singing career away from heavy metal. The band wish him luck in his new venture. The Barbaars festival in Holland and the Newcastle Cluny shows will have to be cancelled as result of Russ's departure, but a vocalist will be in place for the Hard Rock Hell festival in December. A new singer will be announced shortly.
"Lee [Payne; bass], Jon [Brown; drums] and Ben [Read; guitar] are currently in pre production working with producer Tom Galley (PHENOMENA) on the next album. It is scheduled for release in the spring of 2010 and will be CLOVEN HOOF's darkest and most epic-like opus yet."
CLOVEN HOOF recently announced the addition of guitarist Mick Powell to the group's ranks. He made his live debut with the band at the Rock of Ages festival in Belgium on October 17.
CLOVEN HOOF re-recorded 24 of its classic songs for a two-part "best-of" compilation, "The Definitive Part One" and "The Definitive Part Two".
